Lobbying for Change

ECIL sees campaigning and lobbying for provision and access for disabled people as one our central functions. We have recently supported Jack Ashley with his Right to Independent Living Bill which goes to the heart of what we do. (go to link below for more information)

We have also been involved with the Ealing Gazette's campaign to make Ealing Broadway Station accessible and our members spent one Friday out on the street, getting signatures for the petition.

Our lobbying around Social Services is done as part of Disability Connect and we are involved with the National Centre for Independent Living (go to link below for more information) to try and influence policy on a national basis.
